Hello there, I’m Davit, one of the newest faces you’ll meet here at Simwood. I’m based in the beautiful city of Tbilisi, Georgia, and, like many Georgians, I’m a big fan of rugby, wine, and cheese. But you might be wondering: how did I end up at Simwood?
From a very young age, I was fascinated by different cultures and curious about how the world works. Each culture offers something unique, and this curiosity led me to pursue a degree in International Relations, driven by a passion to better understand global markets and explore ways to connect people across borders. I am one of those peeps who believe that key to everything is the Free market, a possibility to share without a pretence and communicate freely. This led me to seek opportunities that would allow me to engage with and learn from businesses representing diverse cultures, ultimately fueling my passion for becoming an account manager.
Yet in the local telecom market, the role of an account manager is often reduced to “keeping partners calm” and pushing for upsells, with little focus on innovation or genuine care. KPIs tend to revolve around how much money you bring in or how effectively you’ve convinced partners that everything is fine, even when it’s not.
Then I discovered Simwood, an organisation that prides itself on being straight-talking and forward-thinking. And I quickly realised this wasn’t just a tagline. The people here genuinely strive to innovate and be honest. It was a breath of fresh air!
It was exactly the kind of forward-looking, transparent thinking I’d been searching for. It’s refreshing to be part of a team that wants to be the change in an industry where some companies are more focused on squeezing the last penny under the guise of “protecting the community.”
And as the cherry on top, Simwood applies this philosophy internally as well, empowering its employees to seek out solutions independently, support one another, and openly share their knowledge. A great example of this spirit of collaboration has been my wonderful colleagues, Amy and Parnita, who have shared their insights into the UK market, its challenges, and how Simwood successfully navigates them.
Honestly, I’m excited to learn more about Simwood’s partners and the opportunities ahead. And if you’ll forgive a bit of naivety, I’d be genuinely delighted to play a part in finding and contributing to meaningful solutions. I’m truly looking forward to meeting you, learning from your experience, and hopefully making your journey with Simwood even more enjoyable.
PS. I will be attending GCCM Berlin this year, and if you’re there, please book a meeting with us here.
