By Simon Woodhead
Seriously recognising the efforts of a technical industry in a room full of some very bright minds requires a seriously bright host, so I’m delighted to announce that the undisputed Queen of the Geeks and our true first* choice, Ms Rachel Riley, took our call and will be attending SimCon2 and hosting our inaugural awards ceremony!
A huge thank you to all those of you who have already booked your free ticket to SimCon2 and for the already very generous donations to our nominated charity, Cilgerran Children’s Ward. With just a month and a half to go, tickets have been taken up almost twice as quickly as last year so don’t delay booking if you intend coming – we’ll be closing the book for hotels on December 31st at the latest, and tickets as soon as they’re all gone.
Please also don’t forget to let us have your nominations for the inaugural SimCon Awards either. Remember, these awards are unique as you cannot nominate yourself. Instead, they’re about recognising the unsung heroes of our community and industry who would either not contemplate nominating themselves, or simply wouldn’t have the time. Great people, great projects, great launches – anything goes, there are no fixed categories. There’s no dinner package or advertising bundle either; we’re seeding this but we hope it grows into something much bigger than Simwood. That needs your support though!
Do get in quick for those tickets and, again, please let us have your nominations!
