Inside Simwood

Here in Georgia

Recently, I had the absolute pleasure of heading over to Tbilisi, Georgia, to spend some proper in-person time with our brilliant team out there,  and what a trip it was!

First of all, what a welcome! Georgians don’t do anything by halves when it comes to hospitality. From the second I arrived, it was warm smiles, generous toasts, and more wine than I could politely decline. Honestly, I thought I was popping over for a bit of training, not a full-on initiation into Georgian culture. (Zero complaints.)

Big shoutout to Davit, our resident historian and account manager extraordinaire, who gave me a crash course in all things Georgia before most people have had their morning coffee. From ancient landmarks to local legends, I learned more before 9 am than I usually manage in a week.

We squeezed in a few sights before the workday began because why not soak in a bit of Tbilisi magic before diving headfirst into all things around the Simwood Potato and BYoC? Yes, we really did spend a good chunk of time talking about our humble Potato and the wonders of carrier flexibility.

The best part? Spending time with Tekla and Davit, the powerhouse duo who, along with myself, make up our Sales & Account Management team. You probably know them already (if not, you should), and if you’ve spoken to us lately, you’ve likely had their help. They know their stuff, they’re passionate about what we do, and they care — a lot — about helping our partners grow with us.

Honestly, it was just brilliant to meet the team face-to-face, bounce ideas around, and share the Simwood spirit and possibly a bit of Kisi (Georgian Wine) in the evenings, but that’s a story for another time. We had a fantastic evening out with colleagues across all areas of the business based out there- with guys joining us from the Ops, Dev-Ops and Porting team for some traditional Georgian cuisine and wine on the last night of my trip! It was truly lovely to get to know everyone on an individual level and learn more about each other.

If you’re working with us, chances are you’re already talking to Tekla or Davit. If not, what are you waiting for? Get in touch, say hi, and let’s talk voice, BYoC, and maybe even potatoes!

Until next time, Georgia 🇬🇪 — Madloba!
