I’m excited to let you know that David Duffett is joining Simwood.
Many of you will know David. He’s been a speaker at every SimCon, either in his former role as Worldwide Community Director for the Asterisk open-source project, Asterisk trainer, or as an award winning speaker with a passion for helping geeks get their message out. He’s been a friend of mine and the company for a very long time and I’m delighted the right time and opportunity to work together has come around.
You know Simwood loves open-source and my annual calendar used to be filled with speaking gigs around the community, either keynotes or more hands-on technical talks about new ground Simwood was breaking. I haven’t been able to do that in the last few years and while we continue to sponsor events and support where we can, our contribution hasn’t been able to be what it was and what we’d like it to be.
David will be picking up this mantle and championing our contribution to the community whilst also aiding our own communication with our own community (i.e. you!). This blog has cut-through to parts that would surprise you but it is frustrating how often what we do gets missed by our own customers and we can do better!
Brace yourselves for the endless stream of Dad jokes!
