Changes to UK Mobile billing

In January 2023, we changed how we presented UK Mobile breakouts on our rate sheets so our depth of interconnectedness was more clear. We essentially moved to having ‘peers’ and ‘full transit’ in the breakouts with, today, Three being the only major operator who we’re not directly interconnected with, despite literal years of trying. In our next rate update we need to partly reverse that consolidation.

We’ll be moving back to the major operators being broken out as distinct breakouts. This is presentational as we’re not changing the rates as part of this.

The major reason for this is that as we have more conversations with large international operators, and it becomes clear how much they’re being ripped off in certain quarters, we need to be able to price the four networks differently for them because they attract origin surcharges and the four destinations levy surcharges differently, and not at all in one case.

Hopefully this is just as clerical change and doesn’t affect anyone but please let us know with any queries or concerns.
